This is the shocking moment a man fainted after seeing his friend killed by a chainsaw, only to discover he had been the victim of a cruel prank.

Tom Daniel Hansen Sylte, from Trondheim, Norway, was working in a garage with his friend when he set up the practical joke.

As his friend inspected a car engine, Mr Sylte was chainsawing some wooden planks with his back to his companion.

When his friend was not looking, Mr Sylte switched the chainsaw for a fake tool without a blade, and held it to his stomach before staggering backwards and falling to the ground.

Fake blood spurted from Mr Sylte’s ‘wound’, and his friend turned around to see the horrific image of Mr Sylte writhing around on the floor with the chainsaw appearing to be embedded in his stomach.

His friend’s shocked reaction was to hold his hands up to his head in disbelief.

Panic: When his friend was not looking, Mr Sylte switched his chainsaw for a fake tool without a blade, and held it to his stomach before staggering backwards and falling to the ground. Fake blood spurted from the 'wound' and his friend turned to see the horrific image of Mr Sylte writhing around on the floor with the chainsaw appearing to be embedded in his stomach

He shook violently for a moment before the panic took hold and he crumpled into an unconscious heap on the ground.

Mr Sylte got up, laughing with the cameraman, and after 15 seconds of laying motionless, the victim of the prank came around – with his foot still shaking in shock.

As the friend pulled himself unsteadily to his feet, the sickened panic gave way to anger, and he shoved Mr Sylte in the chest before storming away from the scene.

Funny or too far? Mr Sylte got up, laughing with the cameraman, and after 15 seconds of laying motionless, the victim of the prank came around - with his foot still shaking in shock

Posting the video on Facebook, Mr Sylte said: There have long been requests for crazy pranks!

‘This is the best of all I’ve done.’

Although the video has had 1,400 likes, several viewers did not see the funny side.

Stig Tangerås said: ‘What a stupid sense of humour.’

While Odin Exex added: ‘My mother would have died of fright.’

Not cool, mate: As the friend pulled himself unsteadily to his feet, the sickened panic gave way to anger, and he shoved Mr Sylte in the chest before storming away from the scene
